The night I painted this, I was inspired by one of my best friends whom I hadn't seen in years, and she was coming to visit. I was so excited to see her! I painted with that happy anticipation feeling while playing invigorating R&B music on a 22" x 30" watercolor paper. She has a daughter named Callie who is an award-winning dancer, which makes the title of this piece a perfect mix of my friend, her daughter, and the Greek goddess muse of music, song, dance, and epic poetry who is named "Calliope".
